CALLE13
TYPOGRAPHY
COMPOSITION
"CALLE13"  is a typographic composition inspired by the Latin American artist René Pérez Joglar, also known as Residente. Unlike traditional typography, "CALLE13" chooses to forgo geometric precision in favor of an exuberant energy, directly influenced by Residente's music lyrics and the revolutionary ethos embedded in Latin American countries.

The design concept symbolizes shattered windowpanes, each shard characterized by its sharp edges and robust lines, vividly portraying the idea of strength and resilience. The typographic composition shifts the focus away from a conventional portrayal of artists.  Instead, it navigates the nuanced relationship between contemporary artistry and a darker historical past.

This project was completed using Glyph during the semester course led by Raphael Verona, the founder of Altiplano Typefaces.
